How to start dropshipping, and what the courses around it charge

The mechanics take a paragraph. Almost everything written about this is really about the second question, which is who you pay to be shown how, so that is the question this answers with numbers.

The model in one paragraph

You list products you do not hold. When somebody orders, a supplier ships it to them and you keep the difference. There is no stock, which is the appeal, and no control over fulfilment, quality or shipping times, which is the cost. The hard parts are finding a product people want and acquiring customers cheaply enough, and neither is solved by the model.

That is the mechanism. What an ecommerce community sells on top of it is product research, supplier contacts and people to ask.

Counted from how each listing describes itself. A community naming two methods appears under both, so these do not sum to the niche.

That counts how the ecommerce listings shown here describe themselves, and a listing naming two methods is counted under both. Dropshipping is one method among several in the niche, alongside Amazon FBA and others, so check which one a listing actually teaches before you pay for it. Against the other niches on this site, ecommerce sits toward the expensive end on price, and its middle community is among the larger ones.

Before you pay anybody

  • Establish whether you are buying teaching, a product list, a supplier network or a chat room. These are sold interchangeably and are worth very different amounts.
  • Ask how often the product picks are refreshed.
  • Check the size and the price against the figures above, then look up the specific community here and read how it has moved since we began reading it, rather than its sales page.
  • Budget for the running costs too: advertising, returns and time.

Nobody here has joined one of these communities, and nothing on this site is our judgement of whether one is any good. What this site can tell you is what a thing costs, how large it is and how both have moved since we began reading it, which is a narrow answer to a narrow question and better than a confident one that nobody can support. The ecommerce communities shown here, dropshipping rooms among them, are listed individually with their prices.
