How concentrated are online community memberships?
How the members of every community we track are distributed across those communities, by platform and by niche. No community is named on this page and no money figure appears on it.
Where the members are
| The largest | Hold this share of all memberships |
|---|---|
| 1% of communities | 66.2% |
| 5% of communities | 86.4% |
| 10% of communities | 92.6% |
By platform
| Platform | All tracked | Members | Largest 1% hold | Gini |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Whop | 67,868 | 21,017,664 | 77.1% | 0.971 |
| Skool | 51,902 | 18,588,802 | 53.9% | 0.899 |
By niche
Niches with at least 200 tracked communities, including ones without a page here, so that a single very large community cannot define the figure for a category. A community filed under two niches counts in both.

How this is measured
The Gini coefficient is the standard measure of how unevenly something is spread. Zero would mean every community is exactly the same size. One would mean a single community holds every member. It is computed here over published member counts, ordered from smallest to largest.
This page counts every community we track, including ones without a page here, and a Whop storefront’s member count copied onto each of its products is counted once. It has to count the small ones: the set shown elsewhere is selected for size, and measuring concentration after removing the smallest communities would understate it by construction. Communities whose member count we could not read are left out entirely rather than counted as zero, because not knowing a number is not the same as the number being nothing.
