How to start a YouTube channel, and what the communities around it cost

Starting one costs nothing. Here is what the communities around it sell, and what they charge.

What is free, and what people pay for

An account, a phone and something to say. Every technical step is documented free by the platform itself.

What is genuinely hard is knowing what to make, doing it every week when nothing is working yet, and reading the numbers afterwards without either despairing or fooling yourself. Those are what the communities in this niche mostly sell.

On 8 Oct 2026, content had the second most listings shown on this site of any niche, and its middle price sat a little below the middle of the niches we compare. That fits what is being sold: accountability and feedback rather than a trade secret. Room size varies, and a big room is a different product from a small one, better for momentum and worse for getting your own work looked at.

The nearby thing that is not this

Plenty of communities that look like channel-building are actually clipping: posting cuts of somebody else’s material for campaign money. That is a different job with a different outcome, and this site files it separately for that reason. If the sales page talks about campaigns and views rather than about your channel, you are looking at the other thing. The clipping and content reward communities on Whop are listed individually, with what each publishes about its size and price.

Nothing here is a recommendation and nobody here has joined any of these. The figures above are read from public listings at least once a week, and each community shown here has its own page with the date and source of every figure and how it has moved since we began reading it.
