The model, in one paragraph
A brand, a musician or a creator wants their material spread across social media. Rather than run ads, they put up a campaign: cut clips from our videos, post them on your own accounts, and we pay against the views those clips get. The people doing the cutting are called clippers. The campaigns are usually called content rewards.
The communities in this niche sit between the two sides. Some are run by the brand and exist to organise its own campaigns. Some are run by a third party and sell you access to a list of campaigns, plus teaching on how to cut clips that perform.
Why we file it separately from content creation
Because it is a different job. Somebody building a YouTube channel is building an audience of their own, and the asset at the end belongs to them. A clipper is doing paid distribution on somebody else’s material, and the asset belongs to whoever ran the campaign.
Both get described as content, and for a long time this site read them as the same thing, which put people looking for campaigns on pages about personal branding. They are now separated, which is why there is a page here listing the Whop communities in this niche with what each publishes about its size and price.
What to check before you join one
The honest difficulty with this niche is that the thing you most want to know is the thing nobody publishes. Campaign rates are set per campaign and change, payouts depend on views you have not got yet, and none of it appears on a listing page. So no figure on this site tells you what anybody makes from clipping.
- Find out whether you are paying for access to campaigns or for teaching. Both are sold, they are not the same thing, and the listing does not always make it obvious which one you are getting.
- Check whether the campaigns are the community owner’s own, or a list of other people’s. A list can go stale; an owner running their own campaigns has a reason to keep them live.
- Ask how campaign payouts work, since they are paid against views.
- Look at the size and the price here, and at how long we have been able to read the listing. A community that has been publishing the same thing for months is a different proposition from one that appeared last week.
What we can tell you
What each community charges, how many members it says it has, and how both have moved since we started reading it. For the ones on Whop, the published rating and the number of reviews behind it. That is genuinely useful for working out whether a community is established and what it costs relative to others doing the same thing, and it is not the same as knowing whether the work pays. Nobody here has joined one.
