About Sams Landscape Painting School

Lessons cover composition, tonal values, colour mixing and studies, which members then apply to landscapes painted from photographs or from imagination.^[3] The courses are Designing Your Paintings, Landscape Painting Fundamentals, Develop Your Process, Lights, Darks & Colour Mixing, and Complete a Landscape Painting in 7 Days.^[3] The Premium tier adds a library of painting tutorials and weekly live classes with replays.^[3] Members share their work and trade feedback with one another.^[3]

Earp paints landscapes, with a particular interest in water and the sea, and also paints en plein air, outdoors on location.^[2] The Samuel Earp YouTube channel posts instructional videos on art theory, composition, painting design, values and tonality, colour mixing and plein air painting, and Earp runs a mailing list with lessons and news of new paintings and products.^[2] Earp's own site sells an eBook, Landscape Painting in Oils, along with videos, original paintings and prints, and offers a free ebook called the Landscape Painting Blueprint.^[1]
