The Colour Room is an online community where artists and other creatives practise seeing colour as a language through hands-on play.[1] It is the newest project from BreakThroughColour, a card-based colour system whose concept and content are credited to Tracy Holmes.[1][2] The Skool group was created in July 2025, and 27 invited founding members joined in August 2025 ahead of the official launch on September 1, 2025.[1][2] After its first year it paused briefly to rework the space before Year 2.[1]

About The Colour Room

It is run not as a fixed course but as an ongoing space with a Core Practice Path, a 3x3 grid of milestones through every colour in the system.[2] There are studio sessions, live calls, AMA chats, events and challenges, along with printable PDFs and reference archives, and no prior experience is needed.[2] Membership starts with a seven-day free trial, followed by an Observer plan or a Premium Explorer plan.[1]

BreakThroughColour began in 2009, launched on Kickstarter in June 2015, and opened the BTC Colour Academy on May 1, 2020.[3] It spans 400 Colour Cards and games such as Level Up and Game of Tones.[3]
