About Leather Life Community

The community itself is free to join, with paid tiers inside.[1] A Premium upgrade adds monthly patterns, a mini course called "Unlocking Tooling Patterns" and eligibility to have tooling critiqued.[1] The owner bio describes teaching beginners to tool leather and mentoring more serious crafters in building their own business.[1]

Meling is the owner and designer of 23+, a leathercraft business that makes handcrafted western belts and sells resources for other leatherworkers.[2][3] Custom orders are now limited to belts.[2] The 23+ shop sells tooling patterns for beginners and advanced crafters, a Leather Tooling Pattern Book by Meling, and online courses including Leather Shop Basics, My First 5 Leather Projects and Fundamentals of Floral Carving.[3] As of September 2026, those three courses cost $399, $299 and $125, and a Leather Life Classroom project archive cost $599.[3] The site also lists in-person classes, a Leather Life Convention 2026 and a program called Craft A Strong Business.[3] Since late 2018 Meling has been a signature artist with Weaver Leathercraft, contributing tutorials.[2] A YouTube channel for the 23+ business teaches leathercrafting, and tooling leather in particular.[4]
