About Fly Sussex Community

The school is run by Sussex Hang Gliding and Paragliding Ltd and follows the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA) syllabus, with theory in airmanship, air law and meteorology.^[2]^[3] Tim Cox is its Chief Flying Instructor.^[3] Fly Sussex runs taster days, full qualification courses and tandem flights in the UK, plus advanced courses in France, Turkey, Bulgaria and Tenerife.^[3]^[4] Its Elementary Pilot course is five lessons followed by a short exam, and trainees must hold BHPA membership.^[5]^[6]

The school's FAQ sets a starting age of 18, or 16 to 18 if an adult joins the course too, and an upper limit of 65 unless agreed before booking.^[7] Weather that makes teaching unsafe earns credit for another day, courses stay valid for 12 months from purchase, and buyers have fourteen working days to request a refund.^[2]^[7]
