About Master Realism Drawing

Members get a 30-lesson beginner video course, shared practice with peer feedback, critiques of their work, monthly challenges and skill drills, weekly giveaways and spotlight features.[1] Sun runs a separate premium academy group on Skool with live workshops every week.[1]

Under the name ThePortraitArt, Sun draws charcoal portraits from photographs to commission.[2][3] As of September 2026, a charcoal portrait started at US$500, or US$750 with an art video, with a 50% deposit once the details are agreed.[3][4] The ThePortraitArt YouTube channel posts time-lapse charcoal portrait videos.[5] Sun's site lists portrait artwork for the Salinger documentary, credited to Xiaonan Sun, and an exhibition at Ripley's.[2]
