Searcher School is a learning community for self-funded searchers and people buying their first business, built around an AI-first off-market search method covering sourcing, screening, underwriting and closing.[1] It is the educational side of Sunset Coast Partners, the firm founded by Jed Morris, who advises buyers through the program.[1][2][3] The Skool group was created in August 2025.[4]

About Searcher School

Members get a 90-Day guide to off-market search with a daily roadmap toward a first lead, a How to Search 101 course on negotiation, diligence and financing, and a Claude Code for Search Crash Course.[4] A document library holds financial models, NDAs, LOIs and a diligence checklist, and a curated partner list covers legal, QoE and SBA brokers.[4] Live Q&A with Morris runs alongside guest sessions with ETA community leaders and live hotseats coaching deals on video.[4] The listing offers a full refund to members who do not get a first off-market lead within a set period.[4]

As of September 2026, the Searcher School website described community membership as complimentary, Search Academy as $1,797 a month or $17,000 a year (by application, 5 seats a month) and Search Advisory as a $57,000 engagement, also by application.[1] Search Academy adds weekly live training and reviews of deals in a member's own pipeline, aimed at an LOI on an actual deal.[1] The website states: "Searcher School teaches systems. It does not sell outcomes, returns, or securities. Nothing here is legal, tax, or investment advice."[1]

In 2023 Morris bought two landscaping companies via a self-funded search; both failed roughly 8 months later.[3][5] He hosts Still Searching with Jed Morris, a podcast interviewing searchers, operators and deal professionals, and wrote Buyer Beware: Lessons from Failed Business Buyers.[2][3] His YouTube channel carries Claude for Search, live demonstrations of AI use in deal sourcing, diligence and financial analysis.[5]
