About Piano4Producers Academy

Its core is the GRIP System course, taught step by step from beginner to pro, with direct access to BruceBeats, daily guidance and feedback, and a producer community for networking and collaboration.[1] The bonus material covers melody, producing, arranging and songwriting, mixing and mastering workshops, and 50+ piano breakdowns of classic hits.[1]

The method takes its name from GRIPs, which McKinnon's site says jazz players use to simplify advanced and complex harmony.[3] The full GRIP System is built on 8 shapes, and the site sells a front-end course, the GRIPS Accelerator, that teaches 4 of them, the 4 Smooth Grips.[3] Its lessons are taught with a piano visualizer, and it includes a masterclass of 50+ pop and R&B progressions.[3] As of September 2026, McKinnon's site listed the Accelerator at $27 one-time with lifetime access, and offered a refund to buyers who email within 30 days if it does not improve their playing.[3] McKinnon's YouTube channel teaches piano for modern music production and points viewers to the academy, and McKinnon lists placements with ESPN, BET and Rapsody among others.[2][3]
