About Learning Jazz Violin

Membership is split into Free, Premium and VIP tiers.[1] The free tier includes a monthly live beginner lesson, two free challenges and free courses, starting with 5 Days to Improv, a step-by-step challenge for improvising from scratch.[1] As of September 2026, Premium cost $21 a month and covered a foundation in jazz, 10 tunes to play with other musicians and a chromaticism course, while VIP cost $80 a month and added a group practice session with Holborn each week.[1]

Holborn has been the violinist in the live band of comedian Bill Bailey, helped found the London Django Collective and leads the Matt Holborn Quartet.[2] Holborn wrote the book Enclosure Studies for Jazz Violin and also offers The Jazz Violin Podcast, free e-books, free lessons in jazz violin and a teaching offer called Django On The Island.[1][2] The group's linked YouTube channel, which describes a jazz violinist and teacher, invites viewers to join the Skool community.[3]
