About Home Lab Explorers
The group is a place to discuss topics, arrange meetups and post classes and resources, giving more structure to educational content on home labs, virtualization, containers, DevOps, Kubernetes and server hardware.[2] Resources posted at launch included Proxmox Up and Running, an e-book of more than 300 pages, Home Lab Beginner Worksheets, an e-book on nested virtualization in Proxmox and VMware ESXi, and a Proxmox Ceph Storage Deep Dive video.[2] In the same announcement, Lee planned full courses on Docker, Docker Swarm, Docker and Kubernetes home labs, Proxmox and VMware vSphere.[2]
Virtualization Howto covers virtualization, cloud computing, containers and Kubernetes, and home lab learning, and it hosts VHT Forum, with sections for home lab discussion, home lab pictures, how-tos, and Kubernetes and containers.[3][4] As of September 2026, the site's separate Premium membership, with ad-free browsing, learning videos, training and e-books, cost $4.99 a month or $50 a year.[5] Lee also writes Between the Clouds, a Substack newsletter on virtualization, homelab and cloud, and runs a YouTube channel on cloud, enterprise virtualization, Kubernetes, containers, networking and home lab environments.[5][6]
