About HIIT Science Community

The group is built on focused courses on HIIT concepts, applied conversations about what worked and what did not, and a global network of coaches and practitioners.[1] Its courses include Athlete Health & HIIT, on 6 pillars of athlete health, Improving Maximal Sprinting Speed by Joseph Coyne, and The Science & Application of Endurance Training using AI Platforms, with new courses added over time.[4]

Laursen and Buchheit wrote Science and Application of High Intensity Interval Training, a 672-page book dated 2019 that pairs research with programming for 20 sports.[5] HIIT Science also runs HIIT courses and is linked to Athletica, an AI training platform founded by Laursen that offers adaptive plans for triathlon, duathlon, running, cycling, rowing and HYROX, plus a conversational AI coach.[2][6][7] As of September 2026, Athletica cost $19.90 a month or $189 a year.[6] Laursen is an adjunct professor and endurance coach whose site features The Training Science Podcast and The Athlete's Compass Podcast.[2][8] Buchheit is High-Performance Lead at Aspetar and previously held roles at PSG, Olympique de Lyon and Lille OSC.[9] The HIIT Science team also includes Cédric Leduc as HIIT Science Manager.[3]
