About Music Transcription Hangout

The owner's YouTube channel is titled Andreas Häberlin and repeats the group's line about turning ear training into music industry careers.[1][2] Häberlin wrote A Music Transcription Method: Notating Recorded Music by Ear, a 178-page Routledge textbook in four parts on preparation, process, interpretation and industry resources, with a practitioner interview in every chapter.[3] Routledge lists him as an adjunct instructor at Nova Southeastern University who also works as a music transcriptionist.[3] His site, Haberlin Music, carries open resources for the book by chapter: practice and guide files for readers, an instructor manual for teachers using it as a course text, and a video series that begins with Chapters 4 to 7.[4] The author makes the videos independently, and a playlist on transcribing with Sibelius is in development.[4]
