LiveFree with T1D is a Skool community for adults dealing with the emotional side of type 1 diabetes.[1] It is led by Mark Heyman, a licensed diabetes psychologist who hosts a podcast, runs the Center for Diabetes and Mental Health in San Diego as CEO, and wrote the book Diabetes Sucks AND You Can Handle It.[1][2] The Skool group was created in November 2025.[1]

About LiveFree with T1D

The free tier is for connection and conversation among people sharing the same experience.[1] The paid Plus+ membership adds weekly live support and accountability calls, a monthly Ask Dr. Mark question session, monthly calls for loved ones, member-only masterclasses and discounts on other LiveFree programs.[1]

The 10-week LiveFree with T1D Accelerator is a separate, paid group coaching program that the website thediabetespsychologist.com calls its flagship.[3][4][5] It combines a one-to-one strategy session with Dr. Mark, weekly group coaching with a T1D psychologist, strategy calls with a T1D dietitian and a T1D nurse educator, and a private WhatsApp group, with tracks on blood sugar anxiety, burnout and overwhelm, and acceptance and adjustment.[4] The program's site, livefreewitht1d.com, describes a framework called Psychological Diabetes Care, with one-to-one coaching calls across all 10 weeks and access to the coach and the community between sessions.[5] Heyman has also shared mental health guidance with Beyond Type 1, Breakthrough T1D and the American Diabetes Association.[2]

The program's site states that it is not therapy and not diabetes education.[5]
