Johnny 2 Phones became known for videos in which he asks people to dance along to his songs.[2] In March 2025, the Times Union reported that the video for "Yankee, Baby," his song with Hunna G, played on the Yankee Stadium jumbotron on the baseball season's opening day, with cameos from Aaron Judge and Michael Kay.[2] The paper cited News 10 ABC as reporting that the Yankees marketing department commissioned the two artists to create the song and its video.[2]

A 2018 profile on how Johnny 2 Phones navigates the business of hip hop reported that he had headlined a sold-out show at Upstate Concert Hall and had been a support act for Juice Wrld and Lil Uzi Vert.[3] With booking help from Greg Kornegay of A Little Booking Agency, he had also played the Times Union Center as an opener for A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.[3] The profile named Hunna G and sound engineer Jake Mannix, who recorded, mixed and mastered his tracks, as part of his team.[3] His YouTube channel is titled Johnny 2 Phones Official Page.[4]
