About Wealth Academy Free Community

Members can post money and finance questions, use budgeting templates, debt calculators and investment guides, and follow property and investing material.[1] Live Q&A sessions run twice a month.[1]

Shears's YouTube channel covers retirement planning questions each week, including how much is needed to retire, tax and pensions.[2] Shears is a co-owner of Your Finance Help, a trading name used by LifePlan Academy Limited, and a co-founder of Sanctuary Financial Planning.[2] A profile on the SANFP website says Shears became a self-employed financial adviser in February 2009 and helps clients build retirement strategies with tools such as Voyant cashflow forecasting software.[3] The profile lists memberships of the Personal Finance Society (APFS), the Chartered Insurance Institute (CertCII) and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (MCISI).[3] The advice firm's trading styles, Sanctuary Chartered Financial Planners and Sanctuary Financial Planning, belong to Sanctuary Financial Limited, which the Financial Conduct Authority authorises and regulates.[3]

The YouTube channel says its content is educational only and not personal financial advice, and notes that investing involves risk.[2] The SANFP profile adds: "Please note that the value of investments may go down as well as up and investors may get back less than they invest."[3]
