The Terence McKenna Experience is a Skool community for people interested in the ideas of Terence McKenna.[1] It is an effort to revive a Facebook group of the same name that was once active.[1] The organiser is Peter Bergmann, the creator of two documentaries about McKenna and of hundreds of short videos of McKenna's talks on YouTube.[1] Bergmann's stated goal is to use the platform to build a community and share McKenna's ideas in a clear and useful way.[1] The listing places the peak of the online community around 2015 to 2017, after which it dissolved.[1] In 2022, YouTube problems led Bergmann to upload less often and to stop livestreams, and the Facebook groups never really recovered.[1] Bergmann presents the Skool group as a test of whether something meaningful can be built again.[1] The group was created in November 2024.[1]
