About Reality Capture Network (RCN)

Members get a round-the-clock discussion hub, a global member directory with an interactive map, and a library of on-demand content.[1] They can also join RCN's industry committees, such as the RCN LiDAR & Laser Scanning Committee, which works on standards, education and structured collaboration in the field.[1][3] The network's site also lists project collaboration and support boards.[3]

RCN organises its work around events, media, community, and consulting and strategy services.[2] Byrd hosts The Matthew Byrd Podcast, a series of conversations with leaders, entrepreneurs and creatives across industries.[1][4] As of September 2026, RCN was promoting R-CON 2026, a conference in Boise, Idaho.[4] Byrd's career in geospatial services and reality capture began in 2009, and in 2016 he founded Nexus 3D Consulting, which the network says was acquired in 2023.[2]
