About Mini Apps Competition

Builders create Mini Apps, web applications that run inside Nimiq Pay and connect to a user's Nimiq or Ethereum address, built with the Nimiq Pay Mini Apps Framework.^[2]^[3] Every cycle runs as a four-week sprint of building, carries its own prize pool, then moves to judging and the naming of winners, and the total pool is $50,000 USDT paid over three months on a milestone basis.^[3] Nimiq Community Council members score entries on functionality, design and UX, originality and usefulness, and marketing and distribution.^[3] In the Skool group, members find teammates, share ideas for feedback, get competition updates and early resources, and take part in workshops, live calls and Q&As, among them the Sip & Ship community calls held every Wednesday.^[1]^[2]

Entry is free and open worldwide to individuals and to teams of no more than five, and every entrant must be at least 18, hold a public GitHub profile and have or set up a Nimiq wallet.^[2]^[3] Submissions must be published as public GitHub repositories carrying the MIT License, and apps involving phishing, malware, gambling, illegal activity, misleading behavior or hidden functionality do not qualify.^[3] A crypto news report on the second cycle, which ran until Sept. 18, quoted Max Burger, Executive Director at Nimiq, and said the debut cycle drew 62 Mini App submissions.^[4]
