About Mentoring with the Mentees

The group is part of a wider Mentoring with the Mentees programme that gives young people emotional tools for dealing with anger, trauma and adversity.^[1]^[2] Its local mentorship sessions run three times a week at recreation centers and schools, focusing on anger management, emotional intelligence, character development, leadership and life skills, and the services are billable through Medicaid.^[3] The programme also offers mentorship for boys aged 10 to 13 and for teens aged 14 to 18, ongoing mentorship with weekly check-ins, and keynotes, workshops, parent sessions, educator trainings and youth assemblies.^[2]^[3] The programme says donations fund retreats, anger management sessions and tools for parents.^[3]
